About "Las Vegas"
Ten minutes can shock a country.
That’s what happened in Las Vegas on October 1. Stephen Paddock gunned down a crowd at the Route 91 Music Festival from the 32nd floor of the nearby Mandalay Bay hotel, killing 58 people and wounding 527. Kevin Mahill, a security guard, was checking out an unrelated alarm on the floor when he heard the gunshots. He was shot in the leg when he investigated. Paddock was later found dead by his own hand in the suite with 23 guns, a number of them equipped with bump stocks to allow a faster rate of fire. Additionally, the authorities discovered in Paddock’s car fifty pounds of material for the making of explosives. The motive for the killing is as yet unknown.
