About "Saudi Arabian Missiles"
Satellite images of a new factory south-west of the capital city of Riyadh have raised concerns about the potential for increasing military ambitions in Saudi Arabia. The factory appears to be the first Saudi ballistic missile factory, which is a crucial step towards a Saudi Arabian nuclear program. While the country does not currently possess nuclear arms so the missiles produced would be conventional, the factory is a major concern for the potential of a nuclear arms race in the Middle East.
Saudi Arabia has openly stated that if Iran develops nuclear weapons, Saudi Arabia will also do so. This is increasingly concerning due to the repeal of the Iran Nuclear Agreement by President Trump, causing reduced global oversight of Iran’s military progress towards nuclearization. While the new Saudi factory is small, limiting production capacity, the shift towards increased militarization could represent a new threat to the region.
This week’s final round goes deep into the Saudi Arabian missile factory. Other topics include the indictment of Roger Stone, Brexit, self-driving cars, and much more!
