Mark Janus is going to have his case against his company’s workers union heard before a right-leaning Supreme Court. Thing is, he’s not even a member of the union, but he is required in the state of Illinois to pay dues to the union anyway.
These dues go to political campaigning that Janus disagreed, and he’s making it a strong argument that could end public-sector unions from requiring nonmembers to pay. This would dramatically change national labor law through the courts.
This week’s parli debaters get to overturn or uphold the lower court’s decision.
