In our legal system it is admirable for one to be a law abiding citizen; in fact, everyone has the responsibility to obey the laws. But, let’s say that the legal system consisted of 15 specific laws, would it be admirable if someone obeyed 14 of them, but then broke the 15th? Aren’t they automatically considered a lawbreaker at that point? It’s not good enough to just keep some of the laws, or even the majority of the laws.
No, to be a law abiding citizen we must obey all of the laws. Failure to keep one nullifies all of our good efforts to keep the others.
