About "Sustainable Development Goals (OPP)"
In this resolution, Negative is in a difficult spot. You want to argue that globalism promotes human rights around the world, but when pressed for examples, your options are slim. It gets even trickier when Affirmative brings up examples of organizations like the UN imposing upon other countries. When this happens, you have two options. Option A: argue that the UN isn’t an example of globalism; or option B: argue that the UN is good.
In this brief, I want to give you the tools to tackle option B by examining the benefits of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (aka SDGs). The first section briefly explains what the SDGs are. In the second section, we dive into why the SDGs aren’t an example of the strong imposing upon the weak. In the third, we look at what benefits have come about from the SDGs.
