About "Special Supplement for Title IX"
In recent news, Secretary DeVos announced the Department of Education would rescind the “Dear Colleague” letter, which put the gears in motion for the problems in the status quo, as the case argues. While this is a step in the right direction, it does not particularly jeopardize the case.
Withdrawing the previous standards only means that not all colleges and universities must make decisions on sexual assault cases using the preponderance of evidence standard. All cases must be changed to use the due process standard to guarantee justice, as the case argues that law enforcement and the judicial system will provide. With this recent development, there is no guarantee that how cases are conducted will change; in fact there is evidence to the contrary.
This special supplement provides this extra evidence to help ensure the inherency of the case.
