About "MLK Assassination"
Last week Wednesday marked the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. He was planning to speak on behalf of the poor when he was killed by James Earl Ray. Few men in history, let alone American history, has been heralded with such high regard as a significant change to his culture. Through peaceful protest, Dr. King led to the removal of Jim Crow Laws and the successful implementation of civil rights legislation.
The anniversary sparked debate nationwide over whether civil rights has been achieved. Parli debaters this week get to hash that out.
